Michelle Stannard
Social Engagement Coordinator [Freelance]

Hi, I'm Michelle and I initially joined the Wild With Wheels walks due to social isolation. I love wildlife and being outside with nature. So, I was excited to be asked to join the team as their Social Engagement Coordinator.

My background is in marketing, and I have worked for a variety of social enterprises and technology related organisations. I had to give up full-time work due to my health, but have filled my time with more meaningful projects. I have a variety of illnesses, including Muscular Dystrophy, which means I've had to adapt to life from 2 legs to 4 wheels.

I currently study at UCA in Canterbury and am working towards a BA in Product and Furniture Design. My aim is to create funky, foldable, multi-functional and affordable products for the disabled community. I want to help to make the world a more accessible and accepting place.

In my spare time I like photography, drawing, going on wheeled adventures and writing poems and short stories. I also run a Dover and Deal based disabled group that I am hoping to expand over time.
