Sunny scoot and paddle on this glorious beach

Sunny scoot and paddle on this glorious beach

We all had a delightful scoot in the Warren. And even though we go there once a month, there's always something new to see, as well as the ebb and flow of the tide revealing new sections of the beach.

We looked closely at the blue weed- Vipers Bugloss, which in parts is pink. We also spotted new coastal plants in bloom as well as wild carrot. The previous yellow flowers of the wild cabbage were now in seed, with thin seed pods, which later in the year will spread a new generation along the coastal edge. The Alexander's was also now in seed.

As the high tide was just going out some of the ambulant wheelers (who can manage a few steps) took advantage of being so close to the waters edge, and so, with the assistance from our support walker, we hobbled down to hold on to the concrete groin and felt the refreshing waves lap over our feet and lower legs. For some, this was the first time in many years that they have been able to get so close to the sea.

It sprung a new challenge.. 'Wild with Wheels in the Water'.. so we are going to plan a day trip to somewhere suitably accessible in Kent where all of our group can safely access the water.. watch this space!]

We were amused by a large dog there who was enjoying chosing large rocks to try to play with and and bark at.

We noticed a fair number of cyclists taking the scenic route through the paths and tracks on mountain bikes. A healthy way to enjoy the location.

Afterwards the group enjoyed refreshments at the neighbouring Little Switzerland Cafe, overlooking the bay towards Samphire Hoe, where we were closer to passing Spitfires, Hurricane planes as well as soaring buzzards.

The wheelers feel so blessed to have access to this beautiful landscape. It is so beneficial to our mental health and wellbeing.
