White Horse Waves, Chatter and Admiring biodiversity

White Horse Waves, Chatter and Admiring biodiversity

Location: Samphire Hoe

Date: 13th March 2024

Blog Written by: Tamsin (Disabled Walk Leader)

It was time to scoot/walk around the manmade now packed fill of biodiversity Samphire Hoe.

With a sea breeze and cloudy sky we all wrapped up warm to enjoy our time outside.

For me being able to walk about easily and freely this time with our members makes me realise and adjust to a different pace. The importance of regular seating areas are key not just for admiring the view but for rest and recuperation.

The main platform is undulating creating many different views for us to discuss, at points you cannot see the sea but can hear the crashing waves against the sea defence.

The group switched and moved chatting, laughing, and joking as we went. One day I know someone will catch me out at a puddle and I’ll get splashed but not quite yet!

As we left the main grassland area we took the sea wall back watching the white horses rolling in with the odd one crashing hard at the wall creating a sea spat on the walk way.

We took a seat at the visitor centre and enjoyed hot snacks and drinks chatting over life and old memories.

Our next walk is Kearsney Parks all welcome to join us, message us your book your place.

The large platform ‘Samphire Hoe’ was created from the soil from the digging of the Channel Tunnel, to find out more about this incredible space why not take a trip down to Samphire Hoe yourself.
