'It was absolutely delightful to be able to use the newly installed Accessible Gates at The Warren for our Wild with Wheels Nature Scoot.
Disabled Access Day was established by Euan's Guide; the award-winning disabled access charity behind the disabled access review website Euan's Guide.
We had just a gentle scoot today - Thursday 16 March - along the seawall to the beaches.
The group welcomed Wellbeing Walks Leader Michael Harden from the way you walk who joined in the occasion.
You can join Michael on our monthly walks to help ground busy or troubled minds in nature. These are at Folkestone's Coastal Park - read about the first one here.
The session was therapeutic for all not just for health and wellbeing - it was also an opportunity for social interaction for those who can otherwise feel isolated.
The fresh sea air helped clear our sinuses and remnants of winter colds. We listened to waves crashing on the seashore. We examined some lovely finds a family had discovered in the rock pools.
They'd found beautiful seashells, sea glass and fossils - as well as a mysterious object, which is going to a museum for further investigation.
One participant noted how her high anxiety levels dropped when experiencing the tranquillity of the seashore.
We also held space for absent participants ... maybe not here with us in person, but their presence is felt.'
